Friday Harbor Curbside Residential Recycling
Now you can combine all recycling items together.
On your pick-up day, place the bins on the curb, right where you put your refuse cans .What is curbside recycling? It’s a monthly free pick-up service provided by the Town of Friday Harbor to make it easier for you to recycle aluminum cans; plastic bottles; jugs; tin; steel cans; glass bottles & jars. Who can get this service? Curbside recycling is available to all single family residences. Multi-family residents can recycle curbside only by using Town approved recycling bins which are clearly labeled with your apartment or unit number. To find out where to place your bins, contact our Customer Service Clerk. What do you put your recyclables in? Recyclable items need to be put into weather proof containers. You can co-mingle aluminum, plastics and tin/steel cans. Glass must be in a separate container. The Town has stackable and easy to carry recycle bins available for $10.00 each. How do you start curbside recycling? Just print and fill in the sign up form and return it to Town Hall. Check for your recycle day on the schedule map. Once a month place your recyclables at the curb and the Town will pick them up. Where do recyclables go? Friday Harbor Curbside Recycling is part of a county-wide push for reducing waste through recycling. What you leave at the curb will be transported to mainland markets. The Town of Friday Harbor and San Juan County are working together to turn your refuse into new reusable products.
