Budget

The Town of Friday Harbor operates in a January through December fiscal year and prepares budgets annually. The budget is adopted by the council in December for the following year. It includes operating expenses, capital improvements, and debt expenses. 

The budget is reviewed throughout the year for any amendments that need to be included based on expenses approved by the council where additional funds are available. Any amendments to the budget are adopted before December 31. 

Statutory requirements that the Town follows for an annual budget adoption are found in RCW 35.33.
